Senior Gardener & Grounds POSITION PURPOSE To carry out gardens and grounds maintenance duties ensuring that the resort is at all times presented in the best possible condition. Ensure that agreed standards are met and take responsibility. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

To maintain the gardens and grounds, ensuring the hotel, spa, lodges and clubhouse areas are maintained to a high standard. Shrub beds, bedding, borders and grass areas are maintained to agreed standards. Undertake and monitor general grounds maintenance duties; grass cutting, hedge trimming, planting and weeding as agreed with the Head Gardener and Deputy Head Gardener. Maintain high standards of customer care at all times. Understand Trump Turnberry policy on Health and Safety and to ensure that all duties performed are carried out with full regard to the safety of customers, visitors, contractors and other employees; work within the Health & Safety, COSHH, Risk Assessment and HAVS Assessment guidelines at all times. Ensure the efficient and effective operation and safe handling of all chemicals following policy and procedure. Operate grass-cutting machinery safely and effectively; care and maintain machinery and the reporting of loss or damage to the Workshop Manager according to Trump Turnberry policy and procedure. To accept training and instruction to further skill set. Train and supervise both full-time and seasonal gardeners, ensuring work is carried out to the agreed standards. Assist the Head Gardener and Deputy Head Gardener with plant and shrub selection, work programs and with the setting up of planting and general maintenance schedules. To assist with supervising other team members, ensuring that all works are done to the agreed standard and timescales QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

Self-motivation and projecting a positive approach to work. Reliable and flexible with working hours when workload dictates Good communication skills, a good team player with excellent attention to detail. Positive attitude to change and able to demonstrate a commitment to Never Settle Evidence of working outside throughout all seasons. Driving licence (essential) Previous experience within a horticultural environment. (essential) Good knowledge of plants, shrubs & trees (essential). Education: SVQ2 in Horticulture or Equivalent (essential) SVQ Level 3 in Horticulture or Equivalent ( Desirable) or a willingness to work towards Spraying certificates PA1 , PA2 and PA6 (Desirable) Previous experience within a similar environment ( Desirable) Previous experience in a supervisory role ( Desirable) Benefits Subsidised staff accommodation (if required).
