Job Summary

Reporting to the Sr. Financial Accountant, Windsor Casino Limited, the Financial Accountant is responsible for entries associated with the general ledger, daily revenue and occupancy reports, analyzing and reconciling general ledger accounts and departmental results.

Roles and Responsibilities

Creates and maintains a variety of spreadsheets to facilitate the gathering of information from departments and reviews and/or prepares monthly journal entries adhering to deadlines established by the Finance department.
Prepare and inputs Daily Operations Upload entries.
Prepare and distribute assigned daily revenue reports and balance sheet reconciliations including specific financial analysis.
Liaise with internal and external sources to communicate information and resolve problems.
Respond to customer/departmental inquiries.
Analyze and prepare calculations of commodity taxes and win tax payments.
Maintains, prepares and extends physical inventory list to obtain monthly total inventory amounts and completes inventory audits, obsolescence reports and physical inventory freezes.
Maintains Tracking Master for recipe costing, inter-outlet tracking, inventory sheets and month end information for cost and revenue by outlet.
Calculates potential food and beverage costs monthly.
Monitors and reconciles all food and beverage rebates.
Perform payroll related duties where segregation of duties can be maintained including but not limited to:
- Processing payroll cycles in accordance with Provincial and Federal Legislation and Standards
- Maintain and updating employee information database in Infinium HR Modules
- Processing and verifying payroll adjustments
- Calculates, maintains and verifies employee accruals for PTO, Vacation, STAT, PPH, SICK, ULIEU and COMMD
- Other payroll related duties including GL accounting functions where segregation of duties can be achieved.
All accounts payable functions where segregation of duties can be maintained with other duties assigned.
Assists internal and external auditors with reviews.
Participates in month end procedures.
Complies with Windsor Casino Limited policies and procedures.
Performs any and all related tasks as assigned by management.
Upholds the highest standard of internal and external customer service at all times.

Qualifications

Equivalent to completion of a University Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and/or related program.
Minimum three year experience in accounting.
Knowledge of spreadsheeting applications, word processing applications and Industry-Related Software
Must be able to work all shifts.
Ability to obtain a police clearance.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Physical Demands: Physical effort requiring manual dexterity is frequently required (i.e. between 25% and 75% of time on the job).
Must possess a good attendance record as stipulated in the Caesars Windsor Non-Union Attendance Management policy. Anyone with over 5 occurrences will not be considered.
