Job Description

As one of the fastest growing and highest rated commercial energy suppliers in the UK, we are looking to recruit a Change of Tenancy Manager, based at our offices in Guiseley, Leeds.

The Change of Tenancy Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing and coordinating all activities related to Change of Tenancy (COT) across the commercial, sales, and operations departments. Reporting directly to the Head of Operations, this individual ensures seamless transitions during tenancy changes, maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements, and fostering strong interdepartmental collaboration. This role demands a strategic thinker with a strong operational background, exceptional communication skills, and an in-depth understanding of the energy sector's regulatory landscape.

Responsibilities

  • Change of tenancy management: Lead and co-ordinate all aspects of the COT process, ensuring a smooth transition for both incoming and outgoing tenants. This includes verifying tenancy changes, updating records, COT pricing and ensuring regulatory obligations are met.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all COT activities comply with relevant regulations and guidelines set by industry bodies. Stay abreast of regulatory changes and implement necessary adjustments to processes and procedures.
  • Cross-Departmental Coordination: Serve as the primary liaison between the commercial, sales, and operations departments to ensure a coordinated approach to COT processes. Facilitate regular meetings and communication channels to discuss COT activities, issues, and improvements.
  • Customer Service Excellence: Ensure exceptional customer service throughout the COT process, addressing any queries or concerns promptly and efficiently. Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of customer needs and expectations during tenancy changes.
  • Process Improvement: Continually assess and improve COT processes and systems for greater efficiency, accuracy, and customer satisfaction. Implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance the COT experience.
  • Data Management and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all COT activities. Generate reports for senior management, highlighting key metrics, trends, and areas for improvement.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, external partners, and key stakeholders to support effective COT management.

The Individual

  • Proven experience in operations management, ideally within the energy sector, with a specific focus on change of tenancy processes.
  • Strong knowledge of the regulatory environment governing the energy sector, including Ofgem, Elexon, Xoserve, and the Retail Energy Code (REC).
  • Exceptional organisational, communication, and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and teams effectively.
  • Logical mindset with a strong focus on process improvement and customer service excellence.
  • Proficient in the use of data management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
