Optical Receptionist | Hastings – with occasional cover in other branches | Monday to Friday 8.30pm and Saturday 8.00pm | £22,500 per annum Established in 1949, our client offers independent, quality eye care in Hastings, Lewes, Tenterden and Rye, and is an approved provider by the Conquest and William Harvey hospital clinics.
In this role, you will assist with the efficient running of the branch by providing support and assistance to the resident Optometrist(s) and Locums, and Dispensing Opticians. Join this excellent team, where they pride themselves on being a close-knit, supportive group, always ready to lend a helping hand like a family.
Good planning skills and the ability to work under pressure
Good IT skills (including familiarity with patient management software and the full suite of MS office products)
Adaptable and flexible to cope with all aspects of work and changing circumstances
To provide a high quality, professional reception and administrative service to patients, staff and colleagues
Helping with customer complaints in accordance with agreed internal policies and procedures
Monitoring correspondence with patients to ensure that recall letters are issued correctly and that up-to-date marketing materials are sent out. Advise customers of relevant charges for private and NHS services and products and except payments and issue receipts for the same
Conducting visual fields tests, Optomap and OCT scans to assist the Optometrist
Typing of doctors letters and referrals
Assisting with the implementation of price changes and monitoring/ensuring consistency of charges and fees
Adhering to policies and procedures
Staff discount scheme
