The land managerwill be primarily responsible for negotiating Heads of Terms, Optionsand Leases (and any other alternative structure) to deliver full landassembly packages for development sites within the OnPath BusinessPlan. They will be responsible for the day-to-day relationships withour Landowners whilst supporting the project teams, ensuring ongoingsupport for projects and programmes.

KEYDUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Take a lead role indelivering land rights and any associated land matters.

Represent the company in negotiating viable land deals thatallow renewable energy projects to progress from Development to Build.

Negotiate and secure land assembly packages on developmentsites for the company across England and Wales, potential to supportspecific areas across Scotland, as the business requires.

Provide support to the Senior Land Manager and the wider teamin their efforts to develop and achieve a successful business plantargets and to provide specific help within land and businessdevelopment areas.

Instruct and effectively manage land agents,consultants, and external solicitors in relation to securing landagreements.

Represent the company professionally, establishingand maintaining good relationships with landowners, tenant farmers,land managers, forestry managers or others who own and manage land toensure they are well informed of developments and progress.

Advise OnPath how best to manage their land assets, ideallyincluding environmental responsibilities and obligations.

Provide professional advice on how emerging renewable energyregulations and practices may affect land strategies.

Assistwith any due diligence activity on land and property matters inrelation to any acquisition and/or sale opportunities.

Keep andmaintain up-to-date records including the maintenance of internalsystems.

Liaise with the wider OnPath team members to supportdelivery of projects.

Conform to the OnPath Quality ProjectManagement System as it relates to the job.

On occasion, berequired to represent the Company at liaison meetings, consultations,and landowner meetings etc., out with normal working hours.

Work with and support the wider OnPath team members to achieveboth individual and the Company’s Key Financial and Non-Financialtargets.

KEY PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES:

  • enough resources are made available to the landnegotiations and projects to avoid delay or reduction in quality

KEY CONTACTS:

The role will reportdirectly to the Senior Land Manager. The role fundamentally involvescontact with the OnPath team and Project Secretaries, specifically toensure all land goals are progressed to deliver targeted key reviewstages and milestones.

The role will requireregular community liaison with a broad range of external stakeholderssuch as landowners and agents, legal advisors, consultants, and localauthorities.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

The role will be based at the OnPath Office in WestRainton, Durham with occasional visits to the Scottish Office inHamilton as and when required.

Extensive travelwill be required across Northern England. A car allowance will beprovided in lieu of a company vehicle.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

LAND MANAGER

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

ESSENTIAL:

  • Qualification and/or experience preferably related toland / property, legal or energy
  • to Degree level (ideallyrural surveying, estate management or a relevant discipline)
  • knowledge of working with land agreements and familiaritywith property law
  • of the energy markets and issues pertinentto the valuation of land for renewable energy projects
  • written English and report writing skills
  • to use GISpackages (and other standard PC packages) and read and interpret maps
  • full driving licence

DESIRABLE:

Soundknowledge of sustainable land management practices including a goodunderstanding of the farming and forestry sectors is highly desirable
