Exceptional People Skills. As an installation fabricator, you will be responsible for implementing bespoke builds for retail, using various hand tools and plant. The role requires a keen eye for detail, excellent craftsmanship skills, low voltage electrical experience and must be able to interpret and work from technical drawings. They must work well on their own and as part of a team. The nature of our industry is that working ad hoc additional hours, or out of normal working hours, can be expected as a normal function of this role.   • Strong woodworking skills and knowledge of various joinery techniques.
  • Strong graphics installation knowledge.
  • Excellent tooling knowledge (routers, track saw, table saw, chop saw, cordless tools, electric tools and hand tools).

  • Excellent substrate knowledge with emphasis on sustainability and waste management.
  • Excellent knowledge of manufacturing production and processes.

  • Proficient in interpreting technical drawings whilst maintaining good communications with the designers and fabricators.

CORE AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY AND DUTIES
  • Out of hours work: This role requires unsocial working hours as Installations generally happen overnight, when this is not the case daytime working will be expected within reasonable timelines. To gain a full understanding of any one build, daytime working is essential and a 1-day rest period will be implemented prior to any night works.
  • Assembly & build: Joining fabrication teams in putting together the individual components to construct the final product. This may involve a variety of mechanical fixing methods, ensuring a strong and durable bond.
  • Full Builds: Joining the fabrication team on any one build/dry build to ensure a complete understanding of construction in preparation for site installation.
  • Installation: Joining installations and ensuring works are delivered to Echo’s high standards with careful consideration to the public’s health and safety, throughout the duration of the launch.
  • Tool Maintenance: Regular maintenance of the site kits to ensure optimal performance.
  • Health and Safety compliance: Adhering to safety guidelines and regulations to prevent accidents and injuries. This includes wearing personal protective equipment, using tools correctly, and maintaining a clean and organised workspace.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Collaborating with other members of the extended team, such as designers, project managers, or fellow bench joiners. Clear communication ensures that everyone is on the same page regarding project specifications and timelines.
  • Stripping and Recycling: Stripping component parts from redundant builds for repurposed in line with our sustainability agenda.
  • Finishing and Sanding: Applying finishes to the completed pieces, such as varnishes, stains, laminates or paints, to the appearance. Sanding is also a critical step to achieve a smooth and polished surface.
  • Ensuring company policies are followed.
  • Follow and promote to colleagues, visitors, and the public all Health and Safety procedures and protocols.
  • Motivating and supporting other team members to perform well.
  • To perform other reasonable tasks as required by the Directors.
