Welder - Fabrication Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Welder - Fabrication Specialist to join our team at EMCOR UK. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for providing safe and timely delivery of all work tasks in line with British Sugar work requests and projects across the Wissington site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fabricate and fit metal components to assemble structural forms, such as frames, pipe supports, pipework, and pressure vessels.
  • Install or repair equipment such as pipes, old sheet, plate, valves, and process equipment.
  • Welded fabrications to be built and welded to customers' design and specification, e.g., metal furniture, seating, balconies, stairways.
  • Fabricate tubing, frames, angle, box, etc. from drawings.
  • Comply with all site rules and site company standards.
  • Understand and comply with all hot work controls when undertaking hot work activities.
  • PPE must be worn correctly and be in a presentable hygienic state.
  • Presentation of completed jobs to be of a high standard.
  • Work in a safe and professional manner.
  • Perform other tasks as needed and as requested by Line Manager.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of welding and fabrication techniques.
  • Competent in the use of various welding processes, flame cutting, plasma cutting, angle grinding, polishing.
  • Qualified to EN287-1 for working on pressure systems.
  • Ability to work well within a team.
  • Other factors:
  • During operational periods, a call-out system will be in place for quick response to meet process demands.
  • Shift working may be required from time to time during periods of high work.
