Overview

You have the chance to join a global defence systems supplier, as a Data Engineer, part of the successful Business Applications team who operate within the wider IT function. The team consists of Analysts, Developers, and System Administrators, providing support and development of business applications, primarily focused on the core ERP system and integrated systems.

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Serve as a specialist in Data/BI, aiding functional Business Intelligence Leads as a subject matter expert.
  • Design and configure BI data warehouses, cubes, and reporting services.
  • Address issues, provide support, and enhance performance for user-generated content in BI tools, particularly Power BI.
  • Develop and implement data access control measures.
  • Data archiving / retention / deletion policy design and enforcement.
  • Administer GDPR processes, including the automation of Subject Access Requests (SARs) and handling forget/delete requests.
  • Support projects related to data migrations, loading, export, and transposition.
  • Enhance data quality and accuracy by implementing data cleansing and input validation measures.
  • Advise IT and management on BI tech trends.
  • Collaborate with IT platforms for optimal tech utilization.

Key Requirements:

 

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a comparable role with responsibilities for a BI and analytics platform in an organization of a similar size.
  • Ability to develop and configure data warehouses, pipelines, data lakes, visualisations, security protocols, integrity measures, and integration processes.
  • Proficient in ERP solutions operating on Oracle databases.
  • Understand ERP systems architecture principles and the underlying technology of Oracle/SQL databases.
  • Possess knowledge of data warehousing, contemporary BI analytics, and visualisation technologies.
  • Familiarity with GDPR and compliance requirements in global organizations.
  • Demonstrate diligence and precision in work.
  • Embrace a service-oriented and efficient mindset.
  • Exhibit proactive approach to tasks and responsibilities.
  • Hold an accredited/recognized Microsoft Business Intelligence certification (Desirable).
  • Possess an accredited MSSQL administrator or developer certification (Desirable).
