Manufacturing Engineering Manager
COMPANY
The company is a world recognised OEM with a strong R&D stance, with a strong global footprint. It manufactures and assembles high technology solutions, sub systems and componentry, that is supplies to industries such as telecoms, aerospace, medical, scientific and space.
ROLE
The role will be to provide technical support to manufacturing with respect to product/process design and functionality and retain the relationship with the Product Management and Product Engineering to ensure constant collaboration. Lead and also be involved with projects and in some instances take the lead with customer communication. Manage technical issue escalation process from manufacturing, with the appropriate level of on hand shop floor support in each production area. Manage transfer of NPI to release to manufacture, optimising cost through process, material, and yield in collaboration with Product & Development Engineering and Manufacturing. Drive implementation and maintenance of LEAN and CI practices across the organisation. Achieve budget for labour and material cost reduction in agreement with site objectives. Drive disruptive cost reduction plans into existing processes. Resolve issues with manufacturing when product quality risks are identified. Support the training of new and existing processes, raising training and process corrective actions with manufacturing when required.
CANDIDATE
Several years’ experience in an engineering or manufacturing leadership role. Experience in Lean Six Sigma and Lean Principles in volume manufacturing. Experience in manufacturing environment essential. Engineering Degree or equivalent preferred. Proven internal presentation skills. Demonstrated leadership skills. Innovation and Creativity.
