The Role
The Transition Manager is a mid-level member of the management team, with specific accountability of protecting operational and customer service through business readiness, and service gatekeeping. They are a day-to-day lead for the delivery of services being transitioned to a live environment.
What will you be doing?
- Planning and managing service changes efficiently and effectively whilst manging risks relating to new, changed, or retired services.
- Influencing key internal stakeholders to ensure service transition to meet our customer needs and operational outcomes.
- Actively contributing to the overall functional strategy and take shared responsibility for all aspects of the Transition Management activities that provide assurance of build to meet operational outcomes.
- Set correct expectations on the performance and use of new or changed services, ensuring that service changes create the expected business value.
- Ensuring alignment to and enhancement of quality and standards, include overall department performance measurement, internal customer engagement and feedback, driving CSIP activities.
- Assess requests for change and develop Transition and Readiness plans for each programme of work ensuring they are aligned to and delivering on the agreed operational outcomes.
- Lead and conduct workshops with relevant stakeholders to obtain and provide information of the change and ensure knowledge transfer of the overall delivery.
- Responsible for ensuring the appropriate technical assurance has taken place and provide Operational inputs to the PIT, SIT and UIT test criteria which will ensure a quality deliverable and factor in lessons learned from previous programmes.
What we are looking for.
- Able to build working relationships with internal stakeholders, ask them questions in a sensitive way, and communicate relevant information effectively and clearly.
- Understands the basic principles of project management, including setting milestones, dependencies, and planning resources. Produces accurate work in accordance with specified requirements, objectives, and timelines.
- Able to use Word, PowerPoint, and Excel to an acceptable standard, including producing presentations in an acceptable corporate style, producing properly templated Word documents.
- Lead and manage the creation of transition impact assessment standards that meets the requirements of the business.
- Develops, communicates, implements, and reviews the processes which embed strategic management in the operation. RAID Management .
- Plans and implements complex and substantial risk management activities within transition .
- Implements consistent and reliable risk management processes and reporting to key stakeholders.
