We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join the Neurosurgery team at King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust as a Neurosurgery Apprentice . In this role, you will support the team with a variety of tasks, including clinic bookings, preparation for Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) meetings, planning patient admissions, and responding to patient queries via telephone and the mailbox.
As a Neurosurgery Apprentice, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Neurosurgery team in delivering high-quality patient care and services. This apprenticeship provides hands-on experience of the essential administrative tasks within the Neurosurgery Department. This role provides an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in a supportive environment, with comprehensive on-site training.
The position is part of a Level 2 Business Administration Apprenticeship , fixed-term for up to 18 months.
Manage waiting lists, admission data, and patient bookings, ensuring smooth clinic operations.
Respect patients on the phone.
Work closely with the multidisciplinary team, consultants, nurses, and administrative staff to support the delivery of high-quality patient care.
Carry out general administrative tasks, such as filing, data entry, and maintaining patient records, ensuring all documentation is accurate and confidential.
Adhere to all hospital policies, including health and safety, infection control, and patient confidentiality.
Maths and English grades A-C or equivalent
Experience of running and maintaining computerised databases
Able to work consistently with minimal supervision.
