A leading offshore developer is looking for a full-time Development Project Director within the Offshore Wind Development UK & Ireland Team, focused on leading an offshore wind development project.


In this dynamic role, relationship building, hands-on decision making, and progression will be integral parts of daily work. As Development Project Director, you will be responsible for delivering an offshore wind development project through to its financial investment decision (FID).

This is an exciting opportunity within a team with ambitious growth targets. The successful candidate will be a key member of the team, leveraging their existing skill sets to enhance capabilities in the highly competitive offshore wind project development sector.


Key Responsibilities:

• Safe delivery of a significant offshore wind project from pre-construction development to FID and handover to Construction.

• Delivering the development programme, including business case optimization, project reporting, achieving consent, securing routes to market, ensuring a secure grid connection, and preparing the project for FID.

• Procuring construction contracts that meet safety, quality, budget, and timeline requirements to support the FID business case.

• Leading a multi-disciplinary team of staff and contractors throughout all project phases.

• Collaborating with senior members of the Offshore Development UK & Ireland team to ensure sound decision-making and a focused process.


Your Profile:

• Long-term experience in project leadership, inspiring and managing stakeholders effectively.

• Strong understanding of how energy projects are planned and implemented, with detailed knowledge of timely project delivery.

• Experience and track record in UK offshore wind development and project delivery, ideally managing large energy projects through to FID.

• Hands-on, pragmatic, and solution-focused mentality.

• Excellent communication skills to engage stakeholders at all levels.

• University degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, Business, or equivalent is preferable.

• Proficiency in business-level English is essential.
