Astute’s Power team is partnering with a leading Energy from Waste company to recruit an Engineering and Maintenance Manager for its site in East Lothian, Scotland.

What you'll be doing:

  • Manage, train, and develop a team of multi-skilled engineers and technicians
  • Liaise with Operations Manager and site Engineers for plant improvements
  • Plan and manage plant outages
  • Manage the maintenance department’s budget
  • Develop out-of-hours maintenance cover arrangements
  • Log and resolve defects within warranty periods
  • Oversee stocks, spares, biomass supply, and subcontractors
  • Ensure high health and safety standards on site
  • Represent the client at meetings


What we want from you:

  • Supervisory or management experience in a Maintenance/Engineering role in a power station or similar heavy process environment (EFW, biomass, CCGT, refinery, steelworks, paper mill, etc.)
  • Engineering qualification such as HND/HNC in Mechanical Engineering
  • Knowledge of PSSR, rotating plant, boilers, environmental permits, and H&S issues
  • Experience in budget management and staff training and development
