Artlogic is the leading technology platform for the art world. Founded in 1989 Artlogic empowers 5,000+ galleries, dealers and art professionals worldwide to streamline their operations, saving time and money. At the end of 2021, Artlogic was acquired by tech investors Cove Hill Partners with a view to accelerate innovation and development of their core products; The platform's integrated approach combines inventory, accounting, CRM, website, sales, marketing and payment solutions, providing everything needed to run an efficient and successful art business. Since Cove Hill's investment, the company has doubled in employee size with offices in London and New York and 110 employees across the globe.
Do you have a passion for art and a knack for building category-defining SaaS products?
Artlogic is on a mission to revolutionise the art world with innovative technology. We're seeking a visionary VP of Product Management to lead our product organisation and propel our business to the forefront of the industry.
In this role, you will:
- Shape the Future: Develop a best-in-class product strategy informed by user research, market analysis, and data insights. Partner with the CEO, CTO, and executive team to ensure the product roadmap aligns with the company's vision and drives significant growth.
- Lead with Excellence: Build and scale a high-performing product organisation, fostering a culture of design thinking, innovation, and data-driven decision making.
- Be the Art Advocate: Possess a deep understanding of the art business and a passion for creating an exceptional user experience for galleries, artists, and collectors.
- Deliver Results: Lead cross-functional teams (product managers, sales, marketing, onboarding, support, and engineering) to ensure timely delivery of high-quality, market-leading products.
- Inspire and Collaborate: Motivate and guide your team, fostering a collaborative environment where everyone feels empowered to contribute.
Tactical Focus (First 6 Months):
- Governance: Implement a product management framework and ensure consistency across all product lines of Artlogic, this role will work at building out and documenting standards which could be technologies, processes or both. They would also be accountable for overseeing adherence to and continuous improvement of these standards.
- Product Leadership: Work with cross-functional leaders to agree on aligned prioritisation and coherence across multiple product lines. Oversee timely delivery of committed items and work with product managers and cross-functional leads to manage and mitigate changes and resource demands.
- Product Delivery: This role will work very closely with engineering and customer success, clearly articulating product options/solutions/estimates to assist in arriving at a prioritisation. This role will then ensure that prioritisation is clearly communicated to the team and that resource assignment is fully aligned. For projects which are primarily run by product management, this role must ensure adequate support and resource tracking is in place to meet deadlines and not delay deployments/releases.
- Go To Market Readiness: This role will work with Marketing, Sales and Customer Success to ensure that problem statements are clearly articulated and product functionality solves those effectively. Cross functional alignment around communication, training, planning and roll-out is of paramount importance.
Strategic Focus:
- Coaching and Mentoring: A large part of this role will be coaching and mentoring product managers. In the longer-term, we should see these product managers developing both in their product management skills, their emotional intelligence, and their ability to grow self-running, self-aware and empathetic teams.
- Product Strategy: Aligning the product roadmaps and strategic product initiatives will be critical to long term success. They must align with and enable execution of our commercial strategy and objectives. The interdependence between products and focusing on the needs of the end user will be very important to ensure products are successfully sold and adopted.
- Collaboration: This role should be a connector across the executive team and the business, working to ensure that our product initiatives inspire excitement, buy-in, and belief in our ability to meet larger business goals.
- Market understanding: Regularly engaging with clients globally, with particular emphasis on the dominant US and UK markets, to understand their challenges and needs to solve their pain points and drive Artlogic's market position, with an opportunity to formalise client involvement in the product development process through forums, advisory boards, and design partner programs.
- M&A Assessments: Strategic fit, market coverage and integration planning
- Integration and customer migrations: from legacy and acquired products to the newer Artlogic product platform.
