Technology Procurement Manager role available on a Permanent basis for a leading public services company. This role, will bring the procurement of technology back under the umbrella of IT. The role had previously sat with a separate procurement function, but down to the number of projects facing IT, the role now reports directly to the CTO.
The position comes with the support of 1 direct report who is in post. This person has 3 years’ experience at an administrative level supporting specifically technology led procurement exercises.
Role: IT Procurement Manager
Salary: up to £65,000 – plus 10% bonus and 10% pension
Location: Greater Manchester head office – once a week onsite
The essential skills for this role are:
- Experience working specifically in Technology led procurement
- Well versed in contract law (there is a separate legal function to support the role)
- Experience creating a procurement process & frameworks
- Experience in tendering process and helping select new providers (the final decision will be made as a wider technology team)
The role will be autonomous in its nature. The successful candidate will work closely with the senior leadership team in technology. The majority of the skills sets needed to function, are made up of permanent teams within the organisation. The majority of the external contracts are with the vendors of the systems currently being used.
The organisation has technology at the forefront of front line operations. This role will play a vital part in that.
