Given this is a field-based role, there will be travel included which is paid in line with the company policy on travel and ideal candidates should be comfortable commuting or based around 30 minutes from our depot outside Wetherby in North Yorkshire.


Role and responsibilities

  • Effective installation against plans and layouts across Solar PV installations
  • Leading or operating effectively within a team of installers delivering outstanding service in domestic/commercial (including on-roof, ground mount, and Solar fields)
  • Supporting technical installations across containment of cabling and AC/DC cable routing.
  • Being integral to project delivery on large-scale Commercial installations within project timescales
  • Supporting installation across varying renewable energy products
  • Adaptable to challenges and working environments across a variety of differing installation types both on roof and ground-mount solar arrays
  • Coaching and developing members of our growing team.
  • Supporting an open culture of change and development while putting safety and the customer at the heart of everything we do.


Qualities

  • Applicants must have good communication and social skills and be happy to work as part of a growing installation team
  • Self-starting, autonomous, and adaptive to varying project requirements and installation needs
  • Enthusiasm for knowledge and invested in self-development - this is critical to success
  • Works well as part of a team and takes pride in being a team player
  • Good knowledge and experience in risk assessment and must work safely following process and method statements (RAMS)


Qualifications

  • Transferrable technical skills and competencies advantageous from the renewable/construction or utilities sector
  • CSCS Skilled Worker advantageous but not essential
  • Ideally have experience in roofing inclusive of working with and adjusting roof tiles and slate but not essential
  • Experience in following project plans and working to deadlines
  • IPAF / or Powered access Operative license – (not essential)
  • Safety Awareness (working at height, asbestos, moving handling) – training will be provided


Skills /attributes

· Skilled worker with power tools, and cutting equipment (training can be provided)

· Safe working including working at height

· Experience in moving and handling – training will be provided

· Team experience across trades/construction/utilities or renewable energy sector

· Knowledge of Solar PV and Renewable energy – desirable

· Problem Solving, possessing initiative

· Experience in leading teams (advantageous but not essential)

· Ability to understand and recognise deadlines and therefore flexible

· Would be beneficial to have experience working on domestic roof types and tiles inclusive of slate but not essential

· Based in Yorkshire or North East and Comfortable with travel as we do not operate in a fixed area although typically across the North of England and Yorkshire


Essential

· Adaptable and enthusiastic for Renewable Energy

· Full UK Drivers license and experience and comfortable driving a Van

· First-class customer service skills

· Experience or comfortable working at heights

· Ability to be part of a team, either as a leader or integral team player, and can carry out work autonomously.


Package

· Company vehicle (depending on the applicant's location and aligned role within the team)

· Competitive Salary up to £38,500 p/a depending on leadership experience – with additional performance bonus
