Day Rate : £400/day
Role Description: We are seeking an experienced API Gateway Platform Engineer specializing in Apigee to join our team. This role involves designing and building a fully automated Apigee platform on-premises or in the cloud. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in enhancing our API development capabilities, working with cutting-edge technology in the financial services industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain Apigee Edge components and Developer Portal infrastructure.
- Analyze component logs for troubleshooting proxy errors.
- Understand and manage trust stores and key stores.
- Configure MTLS for northbound and southbound calls.
- Lead capacity planning to ensure the Apigee platform can scale effortlessly.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues related to the Apigee platform and CA API Gateway.
- Conduct root cause analysis to prevent future production issues.
- Collaborate with engineers and project team members to define reliability measures and provide support for achieving and maintaining reliability.
- Partner with the Architecture Team to establish standards and best practices for using Apigee as an enterprise product.
Key Skills/Knowledge/Experience:
- In-depth understanding of JVMs, OpenLDAP, Nginx, Cassandra, Zookeeper, Qpid, and PostgreSQL.
- Hands-on experience with the Apigee OPDK Platform.
- Knowledge of operating virtual hosts, KVMs, target certificates, and environment configurations, including setting up TLS between Router and Message Processor.
- Exposure to Disaster Recovery practices.
- Experience building and maintaining multi-stage CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, CircleCI, JIRA, GIT, Veracode, and Nexus/Artifactory.
- Managing cloud-based infrastructure on AWS, Azure, or GCP using Kubernetes (k8s), EKS, GKE, AKS, or OpenShift.
- Proficiency in using Terraform for infrastructure provisioning in a cloud environment.
- Experience with Ansible for installation and configuration management of software.
