Role Overview: We are seeking a seasoned Stakeholder Engagement Specialist with an in-depth understanding of financial markets, particularly in OTC derivatives and bonds. The ideal candidate will have a background in government relations, trade associations, regulatory affairs, or similar fields, with extensive experience in navigating the regulatory landscape and building collaborative relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Stakeholder Mapping: Identify and prioritize key stakeholders in the financial markets ecosystem, focusing on banks, trade associations, and relevant industry groups in the UK, Europe, and other key jurisdictions.
  • Relationship Building: Develop and nurture relationships with key stakeholders to foster collaboration and constructive discussion.
  • Policy Advocacy: Monitor regulatory developments and policy initiatives, coordinate with the Regulatory Affairs Specialist, represent the company's interests through proactive engagement, and assist with analysis and drafting papers.
  • Thought Leadership: Provide insights and thought leadership through presentations, whitepapers, and industry events.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams to ensure alignment on regulatory matters and advocacy strategies.
  • Event Management: Plan and coordinate stakeholder engagement events, including conferences and industry forums.
  • Market Intelligence: Stay abreast of market trends and industry and regulatory developments impacting the client, providing regular updates and analysis.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree.
  • Experience: Proven experience in stakeholder engagement, government relations, or public policy advocacy within the financial services industry.
  • Knowledge: Deep understanding of financial markets infrastructure, regulatory frameworks, and industry dynamics, particularly in the UK and Europe. Knowledge of other jurisdictions (especially the US or APAC) is a plus.
  • Relationship Building: Proven track record of building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders, including financial firms, regulatory authorities, and industry associations.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills, able to articulate complex concepts clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills with attention to detail, able to synthesize market intelligence and regulatory information into actionable insights.
  • Proactive and Self-motivated: Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel as needed.
  • Strategic Thinking: Proactive approach with strong advocacy skills and experience representing company interests in public forums.
  • Organizational Skills: Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
