Prosecutions & Regulatory Lawyer

We are currently working in partnership with a City Council based in the West Midlands, who are currently recruiting for a locum Prosecutions & Regulatory Lawyer to join the team for an initial 6-months, with likelihood of extension.


The role offers hybrid working, with attendance required at in-person committees and hearings up to once a week.


The role will be paid on an UMB basis, and offers a negotiable rate subject to PQE.


Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Handling a varied caseload and advising the client on licensing and contentious regulatory matters
  • Advising the client in regards to taxi and business licensing, advising at licensing committees and advocating at Court
  • Leading prosecutions in regards to trading standard cases, environmental crime, fraud cases and regulatory matters
  • Attending Court hearings, committees and meetings virtually and in-person, including dealing with the Court lists

  • 37 hours per week
  • Monday – Friday
