Forensic Accountant

Do you have a passion for uncovering the truth and a keen eye for detail?


E.C. Ellis is working with a newly established forensic accounting practice with strong plans for growth. We are seeking a highly motivated Accountant to join their team in either Banbury or Birmingham. The successful candidate will not necessarily have previous experience with forensics, but will be qualified and have extensive experience with accounts preparation.


You will play a critical role in:


Investigating financial crimes: Analyze financial records, transactions, and statements to identify discrepancies, fraud, or misconduct. Utilize forensic accounting techniques to trace funds, uncover hidden assets, and detect financial manipulation. Assess financial damages and quantify losses in legal disputes or insurance claims.


Supporting legal proceedings: Gather evidence, collaborate with law enforcement and legal professionals, and prepare detailed reports documenting your findings, analysis, and conclusions. Present findings and expert opinions as needed.


Protecting our clients: Assist in implementing effective internal controls, conduct risk assessments and audits, and recommend corrective actions to prevent future financial issues. Stay up-to-date on the latest accounting standards and best practices.


To be successful, you will need:


  • A strong accounting background with ACA or ACCA qualification.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong computer literacy and experience with accounting software like Xero.
  • Active listening skills and the ability to communicate complex financial information clearly.
  • Experience in report writing and presenting findings to a variety of audiences.
