Eastern England, United Kingdom KPMG UK Full time

KDN ESG Assurance Carbon Accounting Manager

About KPMG Delivery Network

KPMG is focused on achieving significant growth ambitions while becoming the most trusted professional services firm. For Audit, this requires a relentless focus on key initiatives that drive Audit Quality and achieve Operational Excellence through standardization, centralization, automation, and innovation.

The establishment of a global delivery model, KPMG Delivery Network for Audit (KDN Audit), will help make significant strides in all these focus areas. We envision a network of global, regional, and specialty focused delivery centers that provide standardized services (on a cost recovery basis) to engagement teams in all member firms. The potential benefits are plentiful. Audit quality will be increased by the centralized, consistent performance of certain audit procedures. Engagement teams will be able to increase their focus on more complex procedures or on serving more clients. Our multi-national clients will have a more consistent experience around the globe. Most member firms will be able to achieve better margins. Finally, the firm will have a mechanism to help quickly deploy new and emerging solutions (e.g. ESG) and audit innovations (e.g. audit technology).

Role Summary

With the emergence of the CSRD, KPMG Delivery Network (KDN) will be at the forefront of delivering assurance to global clients through providing market leading expertise in ESG. The CSRD presents a transformative opportunity for KPMG’s global assurance practice. This is your chance to be at the forefront of this opportunity and shape a more sustainable future, surrounded by specialists of a similar mindset. Together, let's make a difference and create a more sustainable world and leave a lasting impact on the future.

As our Carbon Accounting Expert, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping a more sustainable future. You’ll collaborate with global leaders, build your profile, and lead the delivery of assurance services that will revolutionize the industry. As a key player in our global strategy, you'll drive innovation in KPMG member firms and scale assurance practices in a rapidly evolving market. Embrace the challenge of building a framework and solutions that are groundbreaking, purposeful, and universally adaptable.

Job Offer:

Global projects: Opportunity to work on CSRD engagements and attain global reach. You’ll be holding companies to account and working to improve the future of the planet.

Be an Expert: You’ll be a market leading, global specialist in your field and have the responsibility to drive change in your specialism. You will be an expert with the responsibility to sign off and review work.

World class training: KPMG will invest on upskilling you in specialist ESG knowledge with a comprehensive training programme. Working alongside peers at the pinnacle of expertise, you have the opportunity to gain valuable professional experience, broadening your technical knowledge.

Build your career: You will be an integral part to the creation of the ESG Team. You will be driving and owning your own work and will shape the culture of the team.

Virtual hybrid working: Flexible working hours; potential to be fully remote. You will be working with colleagues across the globe but with the flexibility to work around your own schedule.

Reward: Flexible compensation and benefits package and thorough onboarding process to help you during the first weeks.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Represent KPMG and build the assurance brand internationally.
  • Support and manage ESG assurance engagements, focusing on Carbon Accounting subject matter expertise.
  • Build capacity within member firms through training and knowledge sharing.
  • Identify opportunities for KDN process improvement and standardization.
  • Enable the successful deployment and adoption of new services and solutions.
  • Champion the KDN ESG Assurance program and drive adoption and change.

Candidate Profile:

  • Significant experience in sustainability assurance or a related field.
  • Experience in assurance/audit work and the ability to apply expertise from this perspective.
  • In-depth technical knowledge of relevant frameworks and the international regulatory and policy context, specifically knowledge and experience of working with the GHG Protocol Scope 1, 2, and 3.
  • CPA or similar accreditation is preferred.
  • Extensive experience applying knowledge and expertise in various sectors, including the Oil & Gas and Chemical sector.
  • Ability to make quick, sound decisions and work in an agile way.
  • Excellent stakeholder and client management skills
