Compliance and Governance Analyst

Location: Leeds

We’re expanding our Compliance and Operations team in London or Leeds to continue to support our businesses in the most effective way.


Your primary focus will be to manage the regulatory compliance and operational frameworks that contribute towards robust governance across the business. You will ensure that the policies and processes are embedded, and produce information that shows whether controls are working effectively and within the tolerances set.

The day to day:

  • Regulatory Compliance - manage all aspects of FCA compliance, including Consumer Duty.
  • Data and MI – collate data and produce dashboards to show the state of compliance and operational risk.
  • Remedies – analyse the root cause, and propose solutions, for any compliance or operational risk issues.
  • Group Risk and Compliance – ensure that Hedron adheres to all Group policies and minimum standards. Liaise with Group R&C to enable them to perform their duties.
  • Risk Events - oversee the handling of risk events such as Complaints, E&Os, Breaches, Conflicts of Interest, Sanctions and Data Protection breaches.
  • Quality Assurance – check a sample of file audits performed by trading teams.
  • Maintenance – ensure that policies, frameworks, and processes are updated periodically in response to changes in the business, or regulatory changes.


About You:

  • You’ll have knowledge and experience of organising Risk and Compliance within an insurance broking business.
  • You’ll have thorough knowledge of FCA regulation within an insurance broking environment.
  • You’ll have analytical thinking and ability to propose pragmatic solutions for issues.
  • You’ll have experience presenting of clear information and reports, following collation and analysis of data.
  • You’ll have knowledge of insurer/broker agencies and TOBAs would be advantageous.
  • You’ll have good working knowledge of the general insurance market and, in particular, how small and medium sized independent insurance broking firms operate.
  • You’ll have a high level of personal organization, attention to detail and tenacity to ‘get the job done’.
  • You’ll have experience cultivating strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
