Essential Duties and Responsibilities (not all inclusive)

Individual must be able to perform the essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation;


  • Overall accountability for the delivery of an efficient and best practice International procurement function and supply chain process.
  • Drive margin growth and cashflow optimization through vendor management and process improvement.
  • Manage and develop a team of procurement professionals across multiple countries, building a culture of commercial and operational excellence, driving continuous improvement and high performance across the function.
  • In alignment with corporate Supply Chain Management direction, develop an International inventory strategy that balances meeting our customer requirements with prudent management of cashflow.
  • Utilize ERP data and business intelligence to establish priorities and establish and rollout a robust inventory management process across the International business.
  • Strategic vendor management; deliver excellence to our customers by building relationships with our strategic supply chain partners to establish competitive pricing, delivery commitments and holding them to account on agreed performance levels.
  • Work with the quality function and other stakeholders to establish KPIs and review performance.
  • Partner with the legal department and sales leaders in the review and negotiation of supplier contracts and commercial terms.
  • Sustainably embed compliance to developing ESG and global trade compliance obligations into the supply chain process/ERP.
  • Take ownership of the International logistics process; develop a roadmap to leverage International spend, seek opportunities to streamline the freight process and drive cost saving initiatives.
  • Own the management of International vendor rebates, ensuring visibility of relevant data/performance against KPIs to the International Leadership Team and driving resolution against risk.
  • Establish and execute a plan to identify and reduce slow moving inventory.
  • Build relationships with Managing Directors, sales leadership and other key internal stakeholders, partnering together to leverage relationships throughout the supply chain in the best interests of the company.
  • Other duties as required within the spirit of the role.

Education, Experience & Ability Requirements


Any combination of requirements, which provide knowledge and abilities necessary to perform essential duties and responsibilities, will be considered.


  • Undergraduate degree in supply chain, logistics or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
  • Membership of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) is preferred but not essential.
  • Experience of implementing and executing a supply chain strategy for a multinational organization.
  • Experience managing multi-million dollar global supplier contracts.
  • Significant experience managing procurement / supply chain teams, with proven track record of process improvement.
  • People management experience, with the ability to develop and motivate team members based in multiple countries.
  • Prior experience working within a matrix management reporting structure is advantageous.
  • Strong computer skills with intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Power Point and Word and ability to learn MRC Global specific software.
  • Working knowledge of SAP or similar ERP.
  • Excellent commercial acumen and entrepreneurial skills; ability to negotiate and influence with stakeholders of all levels.
  • Proven networking skills, with the ability to establish rapport at all levels.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present to senior leadership internally and externally.
  • Valid driving license with the ability to travel domestic and internationally as needed.
