LiveWest are excited to be recruiting for a Head of Resourcing and Reward. This is a rare opportunity to define our strategy and lead the operations across Resourcing, Reward and EDI, ensuring a best-in-class approach to attracting and retaining colleagues.


The role holder will work closely and collaboratively with our Executive Director of People and Communications and their direct reports to ensure that all aspects of the team and the strategy are aligned. They will also interact at all levels within the organisation including front line colleagues and the Executive Team.


The opportunity to make a difference is vast – you will develop a strategic workforce plan for the organisation and lead on the design and implementation of an Employee Value Proposition (EVP) that supports this plan, ensuring we attract and retain the best colleagues that have the correct skills and behaviors that align with our vision and values.

Ensuring that EDI continues to form a key part of the approach, you will create an inspiring strategy that delivers a clear service proposition to both our internal customers and our candidates. Direct sourcing is important, so your segmented plan will ensure we reach the right candidates every time, and through ongoing development of the people leaders, our assessment methods will be engaging, fair and robust. You will own our suite of tools associated with Resourcing, Reward and EDI and will manage an effective portfolio of external specialists and suppliers, so we have expertise on hand.

Retaining colleagues is vital to us, so you will continually review our reward strategy ensuring we are attractive in the marketplace, and have the right balance between reward, benefits, training and development.


This is a leadership role, so you will not only inspire and build trust and credibility from our executive team, but as importantly, from your own team, who you will lead and develop to deliver the plans and achieve the KPI’s that you will measure and report on.

This role is being offered on a full time, permanent basis and can be based in our Exeter, Tolvaddon or Weston-super-Mare offices. A hybrid working pattern is on offer.



About you

To be considered for this role, you will be / have:


  • Significant experience of developing Resourcing Strategies and operational plans to deliver against current and future hiring needs.
  • Management of an in-house team with demonstrable experience of driving improved service and KPI’s
  • Demonstrable experience of leading high-volume campaigns, and personally leading Senior/Exec level hires.
  • Experience in the recruitment cycle across a variety of organisational levels and professions.
  • Knowledge of laws and regulations applicable to the employment, recruitment and placement of new hires.
  • Experience in negotiating with outside agencies to minimise costs whilst ensuring maximum loyalty and service.
  • Experience of using social media within a business context and other forms of direct sourcing.
  • Persuasive and tenacious and be willing to challenge the status quo when necessary.
  • Ability to gather data, consistently track and interpret metrics, and prepare reports.
  • Strong presentation skills, comfortable in delivering presentations to key internal & external stakeholders.
  • Able to work with and effectively manage key stakeholders by using an adaptable and flexible approach, this will be required at all levels, from front line colleagues through to Executive Team & Board members.
  • A collaborative approach to working with and dealing with colleagues at all levels. Self-awareness and empathy are key attributes.
