With head office at the beautiful grounds of Hursley Park Estate and a host of current projects and pipeline work across Hampshire, we are looking for an experienced Construction Project Manager to join our team.
In addition to all the obvious, we need a real team player with the ability and hunger to run their own projects. You should, however, acknowledge that by joining a small business, it’s an all hands on deck approach, be excited and pleased to get involved with innovating and implementing new processes, and develop skills outside your typical job description.
At present our project delivery model places both Project and Site Management duties on this role, based on site and responsible for procurement of subcontract & material packages, project sequencing & programming, HSEQ management, site mobilisation & demobilisation, site logistics, visual standards and more. You will work alongside a visiting Quantity Surveyor, the Managing Director and a Project Administrator.
Joining a business built from relationships, you should be a people person, responsible for building and maintaining client/supply chain relationships & communication. As a modern dynamic business, we rely heavily on technology to manage our projects. Any candidate would take this in their stride and be an advocate of its use.
In complete understanding of the broad skillset to deliver such a role, we welcome candidates with the core soft skills to thrive, supported by us to develop role specific skills through training and exposure. Having said this, a strong technical understanding developed through similar construction management experience is essential.
Some of the things we know to be necessary:
- License and access to a vehicle to travel to/between sites & office
- Site Managers Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) certificate
- A determination to become Chartered with your preferred body if not already
- Ability to self-manage an 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday work routine with a rare requirement for weekend working if the project requires
Package:
- £45-50k experience dependant incl car allowance
- Travel expenses (over 20 miles/day)
