Eastern England, United Kingdom Investigo Full time

Our client is a chemicals business backed by a large cap PE fund, operating across the globe.

As part of the value creation plan, they have identified opportunities to better their financial position (in preparation for an exit) through inventory management / optimisation and strategic planning operations improvement.

You’ll be working alongside the Global Head of Supply Chain on two main initiatives to tackle the above, managing and producing reports to the exec team and other senior stakeholders, whilst assessing capabilities, guiding / coaching / supporting local planning teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Analysis of Inventory & supplier spend: identifying quick win opportunities to negotiate and leverage better supply agreements (e.g. increase frequency of production, reduce minimum lot sizes, greater flexibility, ownership of inventory etc) whilst considering limitations linked to portfolio obligations with former owner. Liaise with S&OP, KPI/Reporting and Portfolio Management & Strategic Planning to accelerate inventory optimisation opportunities.

Planning capabilities assessment & coaching: Evaluate current planning capabilities in regards to performance, ways of working and optimal usage of tools & systems across the supply chain. Assess strengths and weaknesses across the team, working closely with Planners, Planning Managers and Heads of to uncover needs for performance improvement, coaching or replacements accordingly

Standardised ways of working: work with global process owner (GPO) and Planning Managers on developing written standards, assess existing materials & highlight gaps. Support coaching / training of planners on the use of the standards

Reporting/Presentation: Prepare and present results of analysis and findings, as well as reports and business cases to senior leadership

Main stakeholders: Chief Supply Chain (Exec Team), Global Head of Supply Chain, PE Operating Partner, other leaders within Supply Chain or adjacent areas

Key Requirements:

Analytical Skills: excellent analytical abilities, with the ability to report and present client-ready insights to management & executive teams

Stakeholder management: Ability to engage and communicate in a language that is meaningful to a broad range of stakeholders, regionally & globally (both junior & senior)

Experience: Manager+ level management consultancy experience
