Join Our Team as an Account Manager
Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to bring your unique personality and skills to a dynamic and growing company? Hardie Polymers, based in Milngavie, near Glasgow, is on the lookout for an experienced, motivated, and friendly office-based Sales Account Manager to become part of our close-knit team.
Who We Are:
Hardie Polymers, established in 1924, is the UK's leading independent distributor of engineering polymers, proudly serving the Automotive, Aerospace, and Electronic industries. With a 100-year legacy and a modern, entrepreneurial culture, we combine a rich history with forward-thinking values. Our "people first" culture means we prioritize a supportive, family-centric approach to work, with our core values of independence, agility, collaboration, and honesty guiding everything we do.
About the Role:
As our Account Manager, you’ll work from our offices based within our warehouse in Milngavie. You will work closely with our Technical Sales Manager to build and nurture relationships with new and existing customers. You will play a key role in driving growth by managing day-to-day sales activities, continuously improving processes, and identifying new business opportunities. This role offers tremendous variety and the chance to make a significant impact in a fast-paced, friendly environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish, maintain and grow relationships with new and existing customers.
- Proactively contact existing accounts to quote, win business, and explore further opportunities.
- Respond to and follow up on sales enquiries promptly.
- Utilise our CRM system and other resources to identify new sales leads.
- Make outbound calls to potential customers to establish new business.
- Log all activity in our CRM system for transparency and tracking.
- Deliver high-quality service to increase business growth and customer satisfaction.
- Prospect for new customers and explore potential new markets.
- Leverage your initiative and problem-solving skills to enhance customer service.
- Integrate seamlessly with the existing team and contribute positively to our collaborative culture.
- Stay informed about market changes and their impact on customers and the supply chain.
- Maintain a basic knowledge of our product offerings.
What We’re Looking For:
At Hardie Polymers, our customers buy from people they like, so first and foremost your personality will be your greatest asset. You are friendly, approachable, and courteous with outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.
To thrive in this role you should bring proven experience in sales or customer management within a B2B environment. A sharp eye for detail and a proactive approach to new ideas and solutions are essential. We’re looking for someone who can build strong relationships quickly and confidently, using excellent influencing and negotiating skills. You’ll be a natural team player, enthusiastic about contributing to the growth and success of our entrepreneurial business.
We don’t expect you to have specific product knowledge right away and we provide full training in this area. The most important thing to us is your attitude and eagerness to learn and ability to build lasting relationships
What We Offer:
We provide a full-time, permanent, office-based position with a basic salary dependent on experience and an uncapped commission structure, offering unlimited earning potential (expected OTE of £45K within your first year). Our benefits package includes:
- Flexible start and finish times
- 30 days of holiday plus a Christmas closure period
- Life insurance
- Generous company pension scheme
- Discretionary Christmas bonus
- Free onsite parking
