Contract Duration: Initial 6-month term, with strong potential for extension


Our client is seeking an experienced Energy Manager to spearhead the evaluation of their current practices, including benchmarking against industry standards and exploring alternative strategies.


They require someone who can not only meet the responsibilities outlined below and deliver quick savings but also has the expertise to establish, develop, and lead an energy management function of comparable scope.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a strategic approach to resource planning, utilities procurement, commissioning, and contract management, ensuring cost-effective and efficient service delivery with immediate cost savings
  • Oversee the growth of the energy management function, including managing an assistant, eventually expanding the team, and managing a multi-million-pound utilities budget
  • Lead the development and execution of the overall strategy


Requirements:

  • Holds a degree in energy engineering, environmental management, or a related field, or has equivalent experience in a similar role within a large organisation
  • Proven experience in carbon management and delivering energy efficiency improvements within large organisations
  • Strong numerical aptitude and excellent IT skills
  • Exceptional organisational and communication skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Experienced in procurement processes, business case development, report writing, and funding bids
  • Ability to think strategically and manage tight deadlines under pressure
