About the Role:
As a Machine and Process Safety Consultant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with safety regulations and providing expert consulting services to clients and internal teams.
Responsibilities:
- Offer expert consulting services during the design and installation phases of new installations, ensuring compliance with all machine and process safety requirements.
- Carry out safety evaluations including CE, Machinery, and PUWER for new or modified plants, and conduct Machinery Safety assessments on complex assemblies as per Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC requirements.
- Perform on-site audits and provide ATEX/DSEAR surveys, gap analysis, and Explosion Protection Documentation for both new and existing installations.
- Conduct plant inspections and equipment reports before installations.
- Educate both colleagues and client personnel on machine safety principles related to the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations and the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations.
- Complete client safety compliance assignments aligned with project specifications.
- Collaborate with design teams, contributing specialist knowledge.
- Drive revenue through machine risk assessments and safety assignments.
- Contribute effectively to multi-disciplinary engineering design and project management.
- Develop and strengthen client relationships and identify opportunities for added value service.
Qualifications:
Degree in relevant engineering discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering) or equivalent HNC qualification with relevant experience.
Required Skills:
- Proven competence in Machinery Safety Assessment.
- Strong organisational, planning, and analytical capabilities.
- Ability to perform well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Advanced IT and general administration skills.
- Proven teamwork capabilities and strong communication skills.
- Effective networking abilities.
- Professional presentation.
- Valid driver’s license.
Preferred Skills:
- CMSE© Certified Machine Safety Expert or FS Eng (Machinery) qualifications.
- NEBOSH General Certificate holder.
- Experience with ATEX/DSEAR.
- Multilingual abilities.
