£17-20ph DOE + 26 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays + 37.5h Per week.

Monday to Friday


Production Engineer with surface mount technology experience sought for a globally recognised manufacturer based in Chippenham on an ongoing contract basis.

The role will be suited to a highly skilled production engineer with SMT experience. The ideal candidate will come from a manufacturing background and have experience supervising staff to ensure work is carried out in accordance with relevant procedures, protocols and regulations.


Skills required:

  • Competent at component level fault finding and repair
  • General running and maintenance of the Surface Mount Machines.
  • Correct and safe use of printing equipment, reflow oven and automated optical inspection machine (AOI).
  • Meet Company targets in Production and Quality.
  • Continual improvement of Surface Mount Productivity.
  • Working to tight deadlines with a high level of accuracy.
  • Must be reliable, conscientious, and hard working.
  • Experience of working in a manufacturing environment would be preferential.
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering/mechanical drawings
  • Experience of operating SMT machines
  • Experience with pick & place, reflow, screen printing and AOI machines
  • Supervise the SMT Department
  • Operate and Program CAD Based SMT Machinery
  • Carry out Maintenance on SMT Machinery as required
  • Utilise both Pick & Place Machinery and Manual Techniques to populate SMT Assemblies
