As a key member of our team, you'll play a pivotal role in designing and implementing cutting-edge data handling systems for spacecraft missions. Your expertise will drive the development of robust and reliable architectures that enable efficient communication, processing, and storage of critical data.

What you'll be doing:

  • Perform trade-off studies to meet programme/customer requirements.
  • Define the platform hardware subsystem architecture to meet the DH system performance requirements.
  • Define the data handling (DH) equipment requirements, prepare specifications and act as focal point for the technical requirements capture.
  • Manage electrical, mechanical and environmental interfaces.
  • Manage the housekeeping interfaces between payload and platform units and the onboard computer.
  • Manage data interfaces between spacecraft platform and payload instruments, the mass memory unit and crypto unit.
  • Define and manage data handling budgets, traffic, and processor speed.

You will have the following experience:

  • Previous electronic/electrical system engineering experience is required
  • Experience within data handling system environment
  • Aerospace/Space/Defence background is beneficial
