We at Enable are currently looking to recruit for our well established client of ours to strengthen their manufacturing team, we are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated and flexible Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer with an electrical bias.

You will be working alongside a team of skilled engineers to support the whole manufacturing unit. Reporting directly to the Maintenance manager you will play a key role in reducing machinery down-time within this energetic production environment. You will be motivated by a technically challenging role.

Mechanical Maintenance responsibilities:

  • Adhere to Preventative Maintenance schedules
  • Support continuous improvement through root cause elimination completing complex repairs effectively and efficiently
  • Liaise directly with manufacturing personnel, Team Leaders and Group Channel Managers
  • Organise ordering of spares or contract labour
  • Record accurately maintenance history and spares usage
  • Work with the team members to ensure that all production aims and objectives are clearly understood and met
  • Test & inspect new electrical installations
  • Identify and manage opportunities for ongoing cost savings and efficiency improvements
  • Provide support and cover in the absence of other team members
  • Effectively manage process improvement projects/tasks assigned
  • Negotiate imaginative solutions to short term requests
  • Be available for overtime working and shift changes as and when required per the contract of employment
  • Attend regular maintenance and communications meetings
  • Maintain a clean, tidy and safe working environment in line with Health & Safety guidelines

Facilities:

  • Inform Maintenance & Facilities in a timely way of any production issues
  • To support where required in facilities – repair and up keep
  • Liaise with the Facilities coordinator, contractors and suppliers where necessary

EHS:

Responsible for their own health & safety and that of anyone who may be affected by their activity. To co-operate with their employer with respect to health, safety and environment matters.

  • completion of maintenance repairs, including remedial actions identified in statutory inspections and the maintenance database
  • Support risk assessments
  • monitoring of safety systems performance, including extraction, e-stops, power presses and guarding
  • control of contractors and liaising with the EHS Co-ordinators regarding issuing of Safety Permits
  • Check contractors Risk Assessments and Method statements
  • emergency preparedness and response (system / process and mechanical breakdowns)

Other:

  • To carry out any other duties when and if requested as appropriate to the role.
  • This role may require shift work.

Salary £35,000 per year.

Double day shift with a 17% premium on top.
