Head of API Capability/Strategy - Edinburgh - New Role

** Please note - 2 days a week in Edinburgh **


A market leading organisation - recognised as the leader in its field - requires a Head of API Cabability to own and shape its future API strategy. Suitable candidates will have the following:


  • Strong technical background in API architecture, cloud technologies, and digital transformation.
  • Substantial experience in leading software engineering teams within API development and management.
  • Experience in leading the broad development of API capabilities (e.g., design, standards, governance) across an engineering organisation
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to align various interests and requirements.
  • Experience in setting up and managing scalable and resilient platforms.
  • In-depth knowledge of SDLC, API strategies, and governance practices.
  • Experience in Financial service, preferred but not essential
  • Exceptional leadership and team-management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
