We believe in better. And we make it happen.

For a complete understanding of this opportunity, and what will be required to be a successful applicant, read on.

Better content. Better products. And better careers.

Working in Tech, Product or Data at Sky is about building the next and the new. From broadband to broadcast, streaming to mobile, SkyQ to Sky Glass, we never stand still. We optimise and innovate.

We turn big ideas into the products, content and services millions of people love.

And we do it all right here at Sky.

What you'll do
  • Conduct IT control reviews over Sky Data systems to reduce identified risks and also reduce the possibility of future audit findings. You will work independently or alongside your peers, reporting to the Senior Manager.
  • Conduct reviews of Sky Data systems to internal or external Standards, and reviews of Sky Data technology processes.
  • You will concisely summarise and communicate areas of risks or non-compliance upwards and work with the business to implement action plans.
  • Collaborate closely with business units, providing assurance advice on the design and implementation of controls to Sky Data managers, project and operational staff to proactively manage key data risks and ensure adherence to policies and standards.
  • Support the Senior Manager to manage the relationship with internal and external auditors, interpreting business challenges, and driving agreed action plans to successful implementation. This includes ensuring all queries are addressed timely, and documented evidence provided is to an appropriate standard.
  • Partner with Data Governance and Data Management colleagues to proactively manage and mitigate data risk in the business.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to enhance data assurance practices and promote a culture of compliance.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of Data Assurance activities, identified risks, internal review results, and compliance measures.
  • Perform weekly control activity and escalate any issues upwards.
  • Manage the quarterly Control Risk Self-Assessment sign-offs process.
  • Perform peer reviews and help drive continuous improvement of Data Assurance processes.
What you'll bring
  • Highly skilled in audit/assurance, designing and testing IT controls, including a strong understanding of Sarbanes-Oxley act and Senior Accounting Officer regime. CISA or equivalent certification is desirable.
  • Experience in auditing Google Cloud Platform, or data analysis/governance is desirable.
  • Evidence of developing and implementing effective risk mitigation strategies and controls in complex organisations.
  • Proactive mindset to monitor and track improvements and issues so they can be fed into the team's future workstreams.
  • Ability to work to deadlines, managing your workload across several projects simultaneously and remain calm under pressure.
  • Meticulous attention to detail in supporting the implementation of data assurance.
  • Ability to flex to changing business priorities and requirements.
  • Strong problem-solving, analysis, judgement, influencing, negotiation, and communication skills, including the ability to confidently summarise and communicate complex issues in a non-technical manner.
  • Proficiency in collaborating with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders to drive improvements in data assurance.
  • Strong interest in staying informed about changes in best practice, market trends in data assurance and latest regulatory requirements.
