What We Are Recruiting For: Quality Assurance Manager

Are you a skilled Quality Assurance Manager looking for a new challenge? Join VVB as we expand our team to oversee MEPH projects within the Rail sector, focusing on Birmingham and its surrounding areas.

Your role will be pivotal in ensuring the seamless execution of projects such as Birmingham Gateway and the Midland Metro Project. Working closely with our commissioning manager, you'll guarantee adherence to the highest standards, from survey reports to system integration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Track calibration certificates, manage red line drawing register, and oversee site acceptance tests and closure of outstanding works
  • Organise and conduct completed works inspections, ensuring QA procedure compliance and thorough documentation prior to handover
  • Collect review, and ensure material compliance with site assurance documentation
  • Monitor installation quality, liaising with delivery team and contractor throughout project duration
  • Develop and implement project quality plans, manuals, and documents, managing ITP process and verification/validation procedures
  • Report on business performance improvements, providing actionable recommendations, and assist in incident investigation and compliance-related issues
  • Manage non-compliance submissions and closure within set timelines, while monitoring asset performance, reliability, and efficiency
  • Oversee assurance and compliance processes within the delivery team, ensuring quality and compliance with design specifications, and reporting on progress and initiatives for business performance improvement.

Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Electrical/mechanical installation qualifications
  • HND/NVQ/CQI certification
  • Demonstratable leadership skills
  • Excellent construction technical skills

Desired:

  • Proven track record in leadership roles
  • Advanced qualifications in project management or related fields
  • Strong proficiency in industry-specific software/tools
  • Experience in regulatory compliance and quality assurance
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations
  • Additional certifications in relevant areas (e.g., health and safety, quality management)
  • Demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams and foster a collaborative work environment

Person Specification:

  • Previous experience in electrical and mechanical projects
  • Proficient in quality control, assurance, and handover best practices
  • Familiarity with digital systems for record-keeping
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Flexible and proactive mindset to meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
