Whatyou’ll be doing:
  • Thedecomposition of the Dreadnought Whole Boat Shock and EGVrequirements (e.g. policies, general technical requirements, etc.)to the combat systems major systems engineers anddesigners Generating derivedrequirements for technical specifications to be flown down tosuppliers; reviewing tender compliance which is likely to involvesupplier interaction in order to manage the delivery expectationswith respect to the level of Shock and EGV qualificationevidence Working with and reviewingdocumentation generated by the Combat Systems engineeringteams Reviewing, developing andapproving supplier submitted physical test plans andprocedures Review and acceptance ofsupplier Shock and EGV qualification evidence encompassingclassical manual stress calculations, Finite Element Analysisreports and physical testreports Presentation and delivery ofCombat Systems equipment Shock and EGV qualification evidence tothe customer

Your skills and experiences:

Essential
  • Experience of structuralengineering and analysis techniques specifically classical manualstress calculations and various Finite Element Analysis techniquesand interpretations of theoutput Capable in the use of amathematical package such as Mathcad, Mathematica,etc. Experience of thedevelopment and management of technical requirements and acceptanceactivities within one of the following areas: submarine, defence,construction, ships or similarenvironment

Desirable

  • Experience in the design of equipment forsubmarines/surface ships and/or experience in producing shockqualification evidence (hand calculations, Finite Element Analysis)of equipment for submarines/surface ships
  • Degree orequivalent qualification or experience within a relevantengineering discipline

This role will provide youwith the opportunity to work across a number of different phases ofthe product lifecycle, as well as the chance to become involved inother submarine programmes, such as the Submersible Attack NuclearAUKUS (Australia, United Kingdom, United States) — SSNA programme.We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles,subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
