Design Engineer

D33P Search are working with a specialist automotive business based in the Midlands, they design performance parts for vehicles within Motorsports, including Formula 1. They are currently looking for a Graduate/Junior Design Engineers and Mid Level Design engineers to support them, you'll be working on the design of parts used at the top levels of motorsport, including Formula 1, Le mans, WRC and more.

Product development

Design and develop new products to expand the companies range of products
Removal/Refit of stock induction systems for measurement and scanning
Occasional work on vehicles, removing stock induction systems for testing and development
Create 3D CAD models / 2D drawings
Prototype creation
Liaising with suppliers to obtain quotations and ensure the smooth delivery of production parts
Occasionally attending shows and events to represent the company.
Operation of design equipment (Laser scanner,3D printers).

Skills and Experience
1 year experience working within the design/automotive industry. (OR Apprenticeship/placement year)
Experience using 3D CAD design software. (Commercial OR Education)
Practical experience and interest in vehicle maintenance/preparation and a working knowledge of modern and pre 90s road and competition vehicles
Some experience in product development, from customer design requests to production
Excellent technical aptitude
Previous experience of engineering projects/activities
Problem-solving on existing products and product improvement
You will have a good ability to use your own initiative, manage your own workload and projects
Have a working knowledge of proprietary PC software such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

This position will be working full time from their facility in Coventry, this position will cover all aspects of the project design cycle, from taking requirements through to delivery.

Salary - £25-40K (Dependant on experience)

This position doesn't currently offer any VISA sponsorship.
