About the Role:
We are working on behalf of an automotive engineering client seeking a skilled Prototype Build Technician to join their team for an exciting project. This is a 3-month contract role (outside IR35) with an immediate start. You will be responsible for whole-vehicle prototype builds, ensuring high-quality standards are met throughout the process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble, modify, and build prototype vehicles or components to precise engineering specifications.
- Work closely with design, engineering, and testing teams to deliver prototypes on schedule.
- Diagnose and rectify issues with prototype components, systems, or assemblies.
- Maintain accurate documentation of build processes and updates..
- Liaise with engineers to provide feedback on prototype performance and make suggestions for improvements.
Key Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience as a Build Technician, ideally in an automotive prototype or motorsport environment.
- Strong mechanical skills and the ability to work with a variety of materials including metals, plastics, and composites.
- Knowledge of vehicle systems, including electrical, mechanical, and powertrain.
- Experience using a wide range of workshop tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- A proactive problem solver with strong attention to detail and precision.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage time efficiently.
