As the Head of Service, your role is critical in managing the effective delivery of the Benefits Service and safeguarding the collection of circa £600m of income from council tax and business rates.

Working as one council, you will support vulnerable individuals and households across Wiltshire alongside services such as Housing, Public Health and Commissioning, and will oversee the implementation of national and local schemes and the local welfare provision. You will lead on the delivery of the council's Revenues Service and performance will be a key focus for you so that the collection of the income from local taxation is maintained.

We are looking for a skilled individual who is adept at managing diverse internal and external stakeholder groups. You will bring with you strong leadership and interpersonal skills to proficiently manage high-pressure situations sensitively and lead in a dynamic and highly regulated environment with constant change. This role is a technical and legislative role; therefore, an excellent understanding of the financial, administrative and regulatory frameworks is essential.
