Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide line management and coordinate the team, being responsible for coaching and mentoring to develop the team and individuals in technical skills and personal skills enabling them to deliver.

  • Interact with regulators to explain safety cases and supporting substantiation.
  • Support team development, participating in interviews.
  • Demonstrating that required codes and standards are met.

  • Oversee the creation of technical documentation and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Support the preparation of design deliverables and presentations, and effectively communicate design progress in stakeholder meetings.
  • Facilitate the development of engineering and safety case requirements and documentation for nuclear systems and components.
  • Actively engage in project-driven engineering teams, providing leadership and expertise in mechanical design.

Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline.
  • Proven experience in mechanical engineering design, including requirements capture, design solution generation, and technical report writing.
  • Familiarity with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Experience in design change management, configuration control and requirements management.
  • Ability to work independently and balance competing priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage credibly both internally and externally.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills - able to present at multiple organisational levels and to external regulatory stakeholders.
  • A credible decision-maker, able to create confidence through crafting strong justifications and arguments.
  • Eligible to work under 10 CFR Part 810.

Previous experience in the design and fabrication of products such as heat exchangers, piping valves, pumps, and ASME components in commercial nuclear or naval nuclear design would be an advantage.

This is a remarkable opportunity to contribute to the development of next-generation nuclear power technology with a global leader. If you're seeking a dynamic role in an emerging technology and energy marketplace, apply now to be part of their multidisciplinary team.
