Job Description

Harvest Energy Retail is part of the PRAX Group, one of the UK’s largest independent oil companies specialising in fuel trading, storage and distribution across the globe. Harvest Energy have an ambition to grow into one of the UK’s most recognised forecourt retailers delivering high quality fuels, outstanding standards with a focus on site presentation and overall customer service.


The Area Business Manager has overall operations management responsibility and accountability for between 10 and 14 company owned service stations covering the London, East and South East regions, with sites operating as Commercial Operated, Un-Manned or Direct Managed sites.


The role is primarily focused on leading and managing a team of store managers, driving sales, delivering continuously improved site standards and providing warm and friendly customer service whilst adhering to Health & Safety compliance and company operating procedures.


Responsibilities


  • Responsible for the overall profitability of company owned stations, including third party franchises (Greggs, Subway)
  • Conduct regular Shop and Forecourt Reviews at each station to ensure that they are operating within the Company policies and procedures and to their maximum potential
  • Ensure all stations are operated in accordance with the Company’s Health & Safety policies to create a safe environment for staff and customers
  • Lead, manage and monitor performance of Store Managers and staff at each station and ensure that good customer practice is carried out consistently
  • Motivate Store Managers through the use of station reviews and audits to enable them to promote a successful business, carrying out subsequent visits to monitor progress
  • Ensure effective and correct merchandised promotional activity across the area, within the shop and forecourt to maximize sales and increase customer base
  • Monitor and review the product range at each station with a view to increasing turnover and profitability
  • Review Company expenditure for each relevant station and area, to ensure the accurate recording of information and to identify areas of improvement
  • Liaise with outside contractors and head office to establish and manage all maintenance issues as well as monitoring all equipment downtime
  • Build head office relationships and raise requests to resolve operational or other issues
  • Key contact with Petroleum Officers, Environmental Health Officers, Fairbanks, Licensing and other officials where necessary
  • Visit competitors to keep abreast of their activity
