About the role

First point of contact for support queries into the Data team. The role exists to handle the majority of the day to data reactive support in the team,allowing the rest of the team to concentrate on pro active data projects.

This support activity helps keeps the lights on providing data updates, data extracts, data investigations to keep the business applications running smoothly.

Responsibilities:

Respond to and resolve data related support tickets in a timely manner.

Provide initial support for data queries, issues, and performance concerns.

Troubleshoot and diagnose SQL problems, escalating complex issues to the rest of the data team when necessary.

Develop and execute SQL queries to analyse and extract data for business requests, troubleshooting and reporting purposes

Deliver exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders.

Maintain clear and professional communication throughout the support process.

Document solutions and create knowledge base articles to aid in future support and training.

Work closely with the IT support and development teams and other departments to address and resolve data related issues.

Participate in regular team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Generate regular reports on support ticket status, common issues, and system performance.

Provide feedback and recommendations to improve Data Team support processes and system configurations.

Assist in Monitoring SQL server performance, including health checks and routine maintenance tasks.

Requirements:

Essential

  • work experience as a SQL Support specialist or similar role,
  • SQL Skills
  • years experience of T-SQL scripting and using Microsoft SQL Server
  • of updating\creating simple SSRS reports and maintaining subscriptions
  • problem-solving and analytical skills with strong attention to detail
  • to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work
  • communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams (both technical and non-technical)
  • to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities simultaneously
  • and able to work independently as well as part of a team

Desirable

  • of using Jira Service Desk
  • experience in data integration, ETL development, data transformations, and data management.
  • of PowerBI
  • in other advance database technologies like PostgreSQL, MySQL is a plus .
  • with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and their RDBMS databases.

Benefits:

Discretionary Company bonus scheme (up to 10%)

25 days holiday a year in addition to the statutory bank holidays. (Plus, additional holiday for length of service after 5, 10, 15 years etc).
