LEAD NETWORK ENGINEER - 12M CONTRACT - GLOBAL BRAND - £300PD INSIDE

Are you a Lead Network Engineer ready to make an impact on a global scale? Our client, a globally recognised brand, is looking for a dynamic Lead Network Engineer to head their Global Extranet Services Team. This role is pivotal in planning and delivering top-notch Extranet solutions for supplier, joint venture, and public access across various regions including the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and the Asia Pacific.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Provide direction and daily leadership for the Network Extranet Delivery Services department.
  • Team Management: Act as Lead Network Engineer in a team of engineers in the design, installation, configuration, and deployment of Extranet solutions.
  • Project Oversight: Manage a portfolio of projects, ensuring they meet scope, schedule, and budget requirements.
  • Innovation and Refresh: Oversee the refresh of existing solutions and implementation of new technologies.
  • Collaboration: Coordinate with IT, Cyber Security, and Corporate compliance teams to ensure adherence to technical standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Performance Management: Appraise performance, provide rewards and recognition, and foster a high-performing, cohesive team environment.
  • Budget Management: Ensure capital and operating budgets are managed according to the approved plan.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Extensive Experience: 10+ years in Network Infrastructure/Security/Firewall responsibilities, and 8+ years in leadership roles.
  • Advanced People Management: Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop staff.
  • Technical Expertise: Experience with Cisco & Palo Alto network platforms, and skills in automation/scripting.
  • Communication and Analytical Skills: Advanced oral and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts clearly.
  • Project Management: Strong capability to evaluate project feasibility, schedule resources, and manage budgets effectively.
  • Adaptability: Ability to work under tight deadlines and adapt to new methods and technologies.
