Position Description:

  • The Global Extranet Services Team is responsible for the Planning and Delivery of Extranet Solutions for Supplier, Joint Venture, and public access to Ford that meet the Business needs in a cost-effective and timely manner while maintaining the company Security Policy.
  • The group is responsible for the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and the Asia Pacific Regions.
  • The technologies include firewalls (physical and virtual), virtual hosting systems, VPN solutions, management tools, remote access solutions, and other security solutions.
  • Refresh of existing and implementation of new Extranet solutions.
  • Technical support to the Extranet Operations team.
  • Consulting services for customers seeking assistance with Extranet solutions.
  • Hardware and Software upgrades.
  • Assist Engineering with product comparison, evaluation, testing, and recommendations.
  • Proof of Concept (POC) of new solutions/technology.
  • Maintain a deployment of 300+ devices.

Skills Required:

  • Provide strategic direction and daily leadership for the Network Extranet Delivery Services department.
  • Lead a team of engineers responsible for Design, installation, configuration, and deployment of Extranet solutions.
  • Provide sponsorship and oversight a portfolio of projects funded by IT and its customers.
  • Functions in a key leadership role to secure funding, champion, and drive the platform refreshes & new deployments.
  • Deliver high-performance, high-availability network communications systems, with monitoring as appropriate to achieve service expectations, scalable to business needs, and with appropriate disaster recovery capabilities.
  • Ensure the operational performance and maintenance of existing networks as well as design and delivery of new products/product enhancements.
  • Maintain functional knowledge of technology, technology changes, and emerging business requirements.
  • Leverage leadership and technical staff to develop and champion strategies that advance Ford's processes and utilization of IT assets, in alignment with business needs.
  • Champion compliance and maintains strong relationships across IT, Cyber Security and Corporate compliance teams to ensure technical standards and regulatory requirements are defined, documented, implemented, and enforced in the network environment.
  • Coordinate closely with IT peer groups to ensure that company policies and sound security practices are followed. ¿ Ensure the depart capital & operating budgets are managed to the approved plan.
  • Ensure that the depart projects maintain scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Directs personnel actions in accordance with the company's guidelines and procedures.
  • Appraise performance and Provide rewards & recognition to foster high-performing and cohesive teams.
  • Clearly communicates priorities & expectations to the staff.
  • Mentors & coaches' staff on work related issues.
  • Ensures that change management procedures are properly followed.

Experience Required:

  • 10+ years in Network Infrastructure/Security/Firewall responsibilities
  • 8+ years of progressive leadership roles, preferably in managing and supporting network infrastructure and teams.
  • Highly advanced people management skills, demonstrating an ability to lead, mentor and develop staff.
  • Ability to manage staff members who are difficult or resistant to leadership.
  • Ability to work independently with a diverse population in skill set, management level, and geographic location.
  • Demonstrates ability to evaluate project objectives and scope feasibility, gain understanding, schedule resources, and manage budget to plan.
  • Experience operating and supporting Cisco & Palo Alto network platforms.
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills, demonstrating the ability to convey business terminology that is meaningful and well received by the customer.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced ability to work well within and manage a team.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and/or sub-teams simultaneously, including the ability to delegate key areas of responsibility.
  • Ability to adapt new methods, work under tight deadlines and stressful conditions.
  • Automation/Scripting skills and experience
