What you will be doing?

The Café is part of the Trust which operate across the UK.  There is nowhere else quite like Café. The cafe serves a flourishing and established recovery community which links seamlessly with the general public, other partners and providers as well as the wider community including local residents.

The Cafe is based in Liverpool’s city centre and was set up in 2011, The Café which is based in This is an award-winning alcohol free café bar, originally , the first of its kind in the UK.  As well as offering healthy food and many varieties of non-alcoholic drinks, the venue offers an opportunity for individuals with addiction problems a discrete way of seeking help and support. Many of the staff who have or currently work at the café are in recovery themselves.

The café is a well-known and well-regarded central HUB which boasts an entertainment venue and space, offering activities such as open mic nights, film screenings, afternoon teas, holistic therapies, and forums & socials for a wide ranges of services and communities in the Liverpool City Region.

We are looking an individual who can be flexible with a passion to learn and who is able to show empathy in line with the community ethos.   The opportunity to help and support those in recovery and who are seeking long term recovery is a big responsibility and therefore we welcome applicants who have had similar experiences or other instances of lived experience.

The ideal person should be available from Sunday to Saturday for shifts including morning, evening and weekend work including the occasional later evening sessions. Be open to contributing to ideas and suggestions around events and ideas for business growth and development and be prepared to go the extra mile. To support the General Manager in order to provide services and events as well as helping out the chef with general kitchen and café duties.

This role is to support the General Manager with the running of the Café inc. event planning and delivery.  Ensuring a high quality service delivery for all customers and clients. This role will require the flexibility to work shifts from Sunday to Saturday - including evenings and weekends.  You may be asked to attend functions, events or deliver catering for needs of the business.

We are looking for someone with Supervisor experience to support and organise front of house staff , train stuff in expected levels of customer service and maintain a happy and customer focussed environment. Working in harmony with the organisations values , respecting others and value diversity.

We are looking for someone with the below skills and experience these are desirable but not essential as we will offer a robust training and induction.

  • Leadership skills
  • Runing of day to day cafe service
  • Supporting The Brink to achieve sales and profit targets as directed by the General Manager
  • Support organised events to run efficiently
  • Deputise in the General Managers absence
  • Supporting health and safety of the venue
  • Ensure compliance with licencing laws and other statutory regulations
