We are in the process of establishing a new Islamic education centre in northwest London, set to open in October 2024. Our centre will provide high-quality education for up to 200 children aged 11-16 years, fostering both spiritual and academic Growth. This critical leadership position is responsible for overseeing the educational programs and ensuring the success of our centre in delivering a well-rounded Islamic education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership:
  • Develop and implement the educational vision, goals, and objectives of our centre.
  • Lead the development and execution of educational policies in line with our mission.
  • Manage and optimise educational resources, ensuring they align with our strategic goals.
  • Academic Excellence:
  • Ensure the highest standards of teaching and learning within our programs.
  • Monitor and evaluate educational progress, ensuring that students achieve their full potential.
  • Provide instructional leadership, guiding and mentoring educators to enhance their teaching practices.
  • Foster a positive learning environment that promotes student engagement and well-being.
  • Curriculum Development:
  • Lead the design and implementation of our curriculum, ensuring it meets the needs of our students and aligns with Islamic values.
  • Oversee the assessment and evaluation processes to ensure they effectively measure student learning and development.
  • Continuously review and refine the curriculum to ensure it remains relevant and effective.
  • Administrative Management:
  • Oversee the scheduling and allocation of resources to support the smooth operation of educational programs.
  • Maintain open and effective communication with students, parents, and stakeholders.
  • Address any concerns transparently, promoting a culture of trust and collaboration.
  • Staff and Student Motivation:
  • Inspire and motivate both staff and students, creating a positive and inclusive educational environment.
  • Demonstrate a proactive and solution-oriented approach to overcoming challenges and driving continuous improvement.
  • Lead by example, setting high standards for educational excellence and ethical conduct.

Key Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant Degree are mandatory.
  • A minimum of 5 years of teaching experience is essential to ensure effective oversight of educational activities.
  • A teaching qualification such as PGCE is required.
  • Experience as a Headteacher in an Islamic school is essential; Deputy Headteacher experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
  • The NPQH qualification is desirable but not essential.
  • Professionalism, confidence, and demonstrated leadership qualities are essential.
  • A "can-do" attitude with a genuine intention to contribute to the community.
  • Passionate about the role and its responsibilities.

Salary:

£40,000 to £50,000 per year, depending on experience.

Working Hours:

3:00 pm to 8:30 pm

Our education centre is located in northwest London, offering a convenient and accessible location for both staff and students. We provide a supportive and well-equipped working environment, including dedicated spaces for prayer and reflection, ensuring that our staff and students can thrive in both their spiritual and academic pursuits.
