Purpose and scope of job


Alongside the Head of Underwriting, provides support to manage the Credit Underwriting team. To support the business in the achievement of its goals through the delivery of effective underwriting. To support the Head of Underwriting and senior managers across the business with implementing the appropriate risk appetite and effective changes of policy & procedures whilst maintaining the focus of the customer at the heart of everything we do


  • Analysing, assessing and decision making of loan applications within a robust mandate structure.
  • Provide oversight of credit workflow and manage daily volumes of applications to help deliver excellent services within SLA’s
  • Monitor Credit KPI’s across the portfolio and consider a balance between returns and risk exposure.
  • Assist with the preparation of credit reports for management committees and wider stakeholder environment, with presentations of portfolio analytics and initiatives.
  • Improve the liaison with Sales, Client Services, Collections and other internal teams and introducers to optimise the client experience.
  • Fully compliant with all on-line training, including all AML and Regulatory requirements.


Qualifications


  • Strong credit and underwriting experience in motor finance / asset finance.
  • Ability to interpret financial statements and management accounts.
  • Strong numeracy, reporting and Excel skills.
  • Previous project management experience with an ability to deliver to clear and defined expected outcomes
  • Experience within credit underwriting, ideally in the motor finance industry.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Able to communicate at all levels with attention to detail.
  • Self-starter, capable of working individually or as a part of a team.
  • To excel in delivering a customer focused solution within risk appetite.
  • Experience of working with HNW individuals.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and to explain technical subjects to non-technical audiences.
