Are you a detail-oriented finance professional? Our client in Wembley are looking for a self-motivated Finance Analyst to join their team, providing crucial financial support to various departments. This role offers an exciting opportunity to influence key financial decisions and processes.

As a Finance Analyst, you will assist with:
* Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, monthly monitoring, statutory reporting, and control functions
* Offer expert advice on a range of financial issues, including banking and pre-paid card systems
* Prepare the statutory annual accounts and support statutory reporting
* Handle a wide range of Oracle System and business operational reconciliations
* Assist service areas with budget projections, providing critical analysis and challenge
* Ensure robust internal controls are in place for financial matters
* Timely submission of accurate financial returns to both internal and external bodies, including CIPFA
* Work with both Internal and External Auditors
* Aid in month-end and year-end processes, including performance reporting
* Maintain and update the asset register
* Manage and update the team's tax strategies, ensuring compliance and penalty avoidance
* Perform monthly reconciliations and validations for control functions
* Produce statistical data, handle FOI requests, and minimise fraud risks
* Additional responsibility as and when required
*Key Requirements*
* *Education:* Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. Professional qualifications (e.g., ACCA, CIMA) preferred
* *Experience:* Proven experience in a financial analyst role, preferably within a public sector or council environment
* *Skills:* Strong analytical skills, proficiency in Oracle Systems, and excellent communication abilities
* *Leadership:* Experience in mentoring or supervising junior staff members
This role will be on a 3 month temporary basis.
