We are offering a fantastic opportunity for a professional, engaging and solution-focussed individual to become Head of our Evidence Review Management Team. This Team works within our Disputes and Investigations Group and alongside our Competition Team.


The Evidence Review Management Team sits with our eDisclosure Team, together forming our Forensic Analysis and Review Management unit. This unit is responsible for managing the review and management of documentary evidence throughout the entirety of a matter (but most notably at the disclosure / investigatory phases); leveraging the complete suite of advanced analytical tools and review processes at all times.


In this role, you will be required to provide leadershiptoand oversight over the work of the ERM Team. Your role will be to lead the management of the evidential review process from start to finish. You will bring together technology, processes, management and data analytics to ensure that the ERM Team (working alongside and together with the e-Disclosure and Associate teams), plans, manages, and executes the interrogation of large volumes of information effectively, efficiently and accurately.


You will be required to provide ongoing support to all members of the ERM Team, to ensure that best practice is developed and shared across the ERM and Associate Teams and to ensure that consistent policies and processes are followed, while recognising the bespoke nature of each exercise.


You will also be involved in the transition to the use of generative AI and large language models in review exercises, and more broadly throughout disputes, investigations and competition matters.

This role demands managerial and leadership skills. It requires someone with the ability to bring together a team with diverse skills, to drive through change and to make data driven decisions.



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES //


The key responsibilities of this role are set out below and there may be others which are not listed.


  • Leading, supporting, supervising and managing the Evidence Review Management team, ensuring cross team collaboration and sharing of information and best practice.
  • Engaging with Associates, Evidence Review Managers and the eDisclosure team to ensure reviews are properly scoped including the use of technology.
  • Working with the Heads of eDisclosure to provide strategic, data driven and technology focussed best practice on large scale disclosure, investigatory and merger reviews.
  • Ensuring core documentation, such as review plans, key metrics and review methodologies, are engaged and employed.
  • Ensuring proper governance and oversight over reviews to ensure they are carried out effectively, efficiently and defensibly.
  • Ensuring consistency in the delivery of work product and the adoption of best practice.
  • Ongoing development and refinement of reporting and analysis; ensuring standardised approach in relation to progress, cost and review and reviewer performance monitoring.
  • Working with and supporting the development of Paralegals.
  • Coordinating and supervising internal and external review teams, together with Associates, to facilitate the efficient execution of document review exercises.
  • Identifying and implementing new and advanced technologies to increase efficiency on all projects.
  • Ensuring reviews are properly managed and executed, with the production and analysis of key metrics to key stakeholders.
  • Providing ongoing support to the ERM Team, ensuring they have access to and understand best practices and procedures and that these are adopted and executed across all matters.
  • To work with the Evidence and Operations manager and the Head of eDisclosure in ensuring the ongoing development of best practice and processes.
  • To assist the Evidence and Operations manager in the management and supervision of third party suppliers.



CANDIDATE PROFILE //


Candidates for this position must have:


  • Strong academic qualifications (2:1 degree or above from a top university preferred) including a degree or post-graduate diploma in law and completion of the LPC.
  • Appropriate level of post-qualification experience in a City law firm or equivalent (whether in the UK or another jurisdiction).
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise work effectively.
  • Highly competent written and spoken communication, confidence interacting professionally with a broad range of people, including lawyers and members of Business Services of varying levels.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently and pro-actively.
  • Excellent efficiency and project management skills.
  • Good IT skills and an ability to learn new IT systems quickly.
  • Review management experience, a familiarity with Relativity and an interest in developing further technological awareness and skills.
  • Good team player, ability to adapt and fit into a diverse team, reliable, flexible and willing to take on new challenges.
  • High level of professionalism and integrity; displays the highest standard of professional ethics Resilience under pressure with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
