Role Summary

Collaborate with category designers and buyers to create standout FatFace product ranges that exceed our customers’ expectations. Design commercial, innovative, and unique graphics for kidswear and womenswear garments, ensuring attention to detail and sustainable practices that embody the FatFace style and durability.


Role Responsibilities

  • Create graphic direction in line with product strategy and stories. Develop mood boards and colour references to illustrate vision.
  • Gain inspiration from trips, exhibitions, fairs, and suppliers to ensure graphic design is innovative and unique to FatFace.
  • Develop artworks in line with the company critical path to maximize selling time and profitability
  • Work alongside garment designers and buyers to ensure the range is balanced, offers customer choice, and evolves continually.
  • Understand department performance to optimize sales potential.
  • Meet both long lead-time and short lead-time design specifications promptly.
  • Liaise directly with suppliers to ensure clear understanding of artwork and techniques to deliver the best possible product.
  • Ensure designs are fit for purpose and maintain high-quality standards.
  • Protect FatFace heritage by drawing inspiration from archives and external influences.
  • Collaborate with licensed partners to ensure graphics are unique to FatFace.
  • Responsible for all kidswear and womenswear graphics, supporting menswear as needed.
  • Produce clear, concise CAD design specs and liaise with factories and suppliers.
  • Create graphics to presentation and Factory Pack standards.
  • Present ranges to the team and CEO for sign-off and adjustments.
  • Research themes and directions for upcoming collections.
  • Create and present trend packs, mood boards, and forecasts for future seasons.



Skills and Experience

  • Minimum of 4 years' experience in graphic garment design with a graphics design qualification. Please submit work examples with your application.
  • Proficient in Adobe packages (Photoshop and Illustrator) enabling to generate graphic artworks to a high standard.
  • Strong hand drawing skills
  • Innovative and creative with strong presentation skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with externals and senior management.
  • Strong research abilities.
  • Organized and able to prioritize workload effectively.
  • Ability to react quickly in a fast-paced environment, redefining goals as necessary.
  • Understanding of market trends to ensure FatFace develops business performance.
  • Balance of creative and process skills to manage deadlines and continually seek ways to improve performance.

  • Deep understanding of the FatFace style and customer, with a commitment to delivering the best ranges possible.
  • Strong team player who can work efficiently and prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to build relationships with suppliers to deliver product vision.
  • Knowledge of garment construction, treatments, fabrics, sustainable choices, and techniques.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator).
  • Ability to draw original graphic artworks.
  • Knowledge of factory processes.
  • Creative vision to convey the FatFace brand.
  • Understanding of current and future trends within the marketplace.
  • Ability to translate graphics onto garments.
  • Understanding of colour stories and levels.
  • Excellent knowledge of print treatments and techniques.
